This device is compatible with your library card and includes a seven-color display, built-in wireless bookstore and comes preloaded with 25 books. What you’ll need to get started with Digital Downloads: EPUB and PDF eBooks work with this device. As a, you’ll need to download free software to your device in order to utilize this service. For both the EPUB and Adobe PDF eBook, you’ll need to download the to your PC. 1.) Go to to setup an Adobe account. Your login information will be used to authenticate software later on. 2.) Download and install to your computer. 3.) As part of the download process for ADE, you will be asked to authorize ADE using your Adobe account. If you are not prompted you can authorize ADE by clicking on Library then “Authorize Computer” in the drop down menu in ADE. 4.) Now that ADE is active on your computer, when you download an ebook from the Library catalog it will be saved in ADE. (Note: Please make sure you have followed the instructions, located on the left, to create an Adobe Digital Editions account first.) 1.) Plug the NOOK's USB plug into computer and nook to connect it to the computer with Adobe Digital editions open. 2.) Adobe Digital Editions will recognize the nook and ask you to authorize the device. Select 'authorize' on your computer to authorize the NOOK. 3.) Once authorized you can drag e-books from your library and place them on MyNOOK under the list of bookshelves on the left side of the screen in Adobe Digital Editions. Access the library by clicking the picture of three book spines in the upper left corner of ADE. 4.) After you have moved the books you want to your NOOK, use the safe disconnect icon on the Windows taskbar to safely disconnect the NOOK from computer. If you don’t use the safe disconnect the e-books you have copied over to the NOOK may become corrupted. 5.) Remove the USB cable from the computer and the NOOK, then push the raised ' n' button on the front of the NOOK to bring up the menu and select 'library.' 6.) On the library screen select 'my stuff' in the upper right hand corner, and then select 'my files' from the drop down menu. 7.) On the files screen, select the 'Digital Editions' folder, then click on the e-book (pdf or epub file) you wish to read. The e-reader may ask you which program to use to open the file, depending on the applications you have installed on your NOOK. Select the 'Reader' program. Setting up the Kindle Fire Using the Kindle Fire’s web browser go to this site: and follow the instructions on the blog posting to download the BlueFire Reader for Android on the Kindle Fire. Downloading e-books from th e Library Catalog to Adobe Digital Editions 1.) Connect the USB cable from Kindle to the computer. When prompted for a device driver for the Kindle, click cancel. The Kindle screen should read 'You can now transfer files from your computer to Kindle.' 2.) On your computer, copy the e-book PDF (Kindle's will only work with PDFs) file from your computer, located under 'My Documents/My Digital Editions. 3.) Paste the copied book to your Kindle here: E: Bluefire imports (where E is the drive letter assigned to your Kindle). 4.) Once the file is copied, push the 'Disconnect' button on your Kindle and unplug the USB cable from the Kindle and the computer. 5.) Open the Bluefire Reader app and click Info at the bottom right side of the screen, then scroll down to the Import from SD card section and select Import. 6.) The Bluefire Reader app will verify your e-book loan and the book should then appear in your Bluefire Reader library. (Note: Please make sure you have followed the instructions, located on the left, to create an Adobe Digital Editions account first.) 1.) Plug the Kobo's USB plug into computer and into the Kobo e-reader to connect it to the computer with Adobe Digital editions open. 2.) Adobe Digital Editions will recognize the Kobo and ask you to authorize the device. Select 'authorize' on your computer to authorize the Kobo. 3.) Once authorized you can drag e-books from your library and place them on Kobo Ereader under the list of bookshelves on the left side of the screen in Adobe Digital Editions. Access the library by clicking the picture of three book spines in the upper left corner of ADE. 4.) After you have moved the e-books you want to your Kobo, use the safe disconnect icon on the Windows taskbar to safely disconnect the Kobo from computer. If you don’t use the safe disconnect the e-books you have copied over to the Kobo may become corrupted. 5.) Remove the USB cable from the computer and the Kobo. 6.) Your Kobo e-reader will show the new title on the main home screen.
